Hi and welcome! I’m Carrie, married to Luke and together we have three kids aged 16, 18, and 20. I love coffee, the dog, the ocean, my hubby + kids, and books (and not necessarily in that order!).
My own journey began at 16; perhaps overly enthusiastically and somewhat underequipped in grace, but with genuine sincerity, nonetheless, to follow Jesus. Marriage, children, life changes, relocations, heartbreak, disappointment, career moves, and successes and failures since then have all contributed to a deeper awareness that the Christian life is perhaps less about the destination itself but more about the journey.
Whether you’re new to faith, have been a believer for a long time, or are still on the fence, I’d love to hear from you!

The Christian journey is the journey of a lifetime, beginning with the simple confession of faith in the saving work of Jesus and a commitment to a life spent following him. It’s a journey of unknowns, of constant learning and growing, as we find ourselves led deeper and deeper into relationship with the Father, His Son and the Spirit. Jesus hasn’t promised such a journey will be easy, as many Christians can attest, but he has promised to be with us always.
It’s in the journey of life that our character is formed and developed. The end of that journey will simply be the revealing of our character. This Christian life is learning to trust and walk alongside God, with our doubts and our faith hand-in-hand, untroubled by what we don’t yet know simply because of what we do know. That the same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead lives in us. As Paul the Apostle was able to say: “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances…for I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

The Christian faith traces its beginnings back over 2,000 years to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ in the region of Judea, within the Roman Empire. But it didn’t stay contained within in the Middle East for long. Through the work of the Apostles and early church fathers, the faith soon spread throughout the then-known world, reaching many foreign shores, with the number of Christians totaling 33 million by the year 350 AD.
Central to Christianity is the belief that Jesus is the Son of God, who came to Earth to offer salvation to humanity through His death and resurrection. The Christian faith is deeply rooted in Jewish traditions and scriptures, which Christians believe were fulfilled in the coming of Jesus as the Messiah.
Written about 300 years after the birth of Christ, the Apostles’ Creed summarises foundational Christian beliefs taught by the early church and is a bold declaration of a Chrstian’s faith in Jesus Christ. It is a primary statement shared by Christians around the world, uniting them in common union with the work achieved in and through Jesus.
